Aimed at enhancing the four skills of the English language, this course contains two parts: (1) reading & writing (2) listening & speaking. Selected readings cover areas such as literature, business English, paragraph writing, and drama. Listening & speaking part will focus on basic daily life conversation, news and current affairs. The class will be organized around lecture and student discussion/presentation, and it is designed to be collaborative throughout. Assignments will include transcripts of challenging materials, light-hearted impromptu speeches, presentation of assigned topics, and performance.
